PTO BOARD NOMINATIONS
The
PTO Board Nominating Committee will be considering nominations for
the following PTO Board positions. If you are interested in being
considered for nomination, please email Rose Sorensen at rose.sorensen@yahoo.com (or
call (310) 850-9124) with your expression of interest and provide
your name and the position for which you would like to be considered.
Please email on or before 5pm on Monday, February 20, 2017. If you do
not receive a confirmation email from Rose Sorensen, please DO NOT
ASSUME that we have received your expression of interest. Please
follow-up to insure that your expression of interest is properly
received.

see below for a brief overview of the positions:
PRESIDENT:
The President shall preside at all regular and special meetings of
the Board as well as the quarterly PTO General Meetings. The
President establishes the agenda for these meetings. Responsible for
filling all chairmanship positions. The President is an ex officio
member of all PT O Board Committees except the Nominating Committee.
Will work closely with school administration and act as a liaison
between school parents and school administration where needed, as
appropriate. In conjunction with the Treasurer, responsible for
submitting to the Board a proposed PTO Board budget for the year for
approval.
▪ To serve as President, a candidate must have served at
least one year as an appointed chairperson or an elected officer.
FIRST
VICE PRESIDENT: The First Vice-President shall perform all the duties
of the President when he/she is absent or unable to preside. Acts as
Nomination and Election Chairperson. Responsible for researching,
arranging and presenting programs - aimed at the enrichment and education
of all parents – for quarterly PTO General Meetings as well as for
the school children’s special educational assemblies. Responsible for
obtaining 12 calendar sponsors per year. A vacancy occurring in the
office of the President shall be filled by the First Vice-President.
SECRETARY:
Shall maintain a written record of all meetings of the Board and the
Organization. Responsible for receiving, conducting, and disposing of
all Board/Organization correspondence as directed, as well as
preserving all reports and documents committed to his/her care.
Responsible for dispensing special invitations for the annual Parent
Appreciation Dinner to the following: School Administration, Faculty
and Support Staff, Parish Pastor and Associate Pastors, Parish
Secretaries, Director of Liturgy and Youth Ministries, Director of
Religious Education, all past P.T.O Presidents, all past recipients
of the Outstanding Service and Honorary Life Awards and through a
flyer, all remaining parents in the school.
